Below are some writing samples as an example of my writing abilities. Note: some data collection was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, my research on feminist social movements, while complete, is not as informative as I had planned.
Policy Proposal Writing Sample
While the issue of poverty is important in every state, this paper takes a close look at Oregon, specifically the issue of race in the politics of poverty, and why black citizens’ needs are not being met. I attempted to address these issues impacting poverty among black Oregonians by proposing a program under the Oregon Department of Human Services. A description of the program details (including an identification of recipients, operations, and supervisors) is followed by a critique of the program’s potential to address poverty and its effectiveness as a policy. I conclude the paper with additional recommendations for the alleviation of Oregon’s poverty.
URCAD Research
Research is meant to measure and define the frames of feminism in the United States and compare it to frames at other points in time and during past feminist movements. My research aimed to determine how citizens of the United States are framing interest in feminism: it attempts determine if the interest is in economic, political, or social advancements. More importantly, my research investigated if there is any significant change of interest in feminism at all.
